What's this all about?

Reddit's user page lists up to 1,000 comments and submissions and lets you sort by new, top or controversial, but not by old. This makes it difficult or even impossible to see what your first submission or comment on reddit was. If you have fewer than 1,000 posts, you would have to keep clicking the Next button (or if you have RES, keep scrolling), until you reach the end. If you have more than 1,000, you're out of luck — there is just no way to see your first submission or comment.

Thanks to /u/Stuck_In_The_Matrix's reddit dataset of all public comments and submissions since October 2007, this page lets you see your first public reddit post.

Here is some analysis from over 2 billion comments and 215 million submissions by 22 million users. Questions? PM me on reddit or leave a comment below.

TOP 25 Subreddits

Here is the list of top 25 subreddits where users post their first comment. Not surprisingly, they're mostly defaults or former-defaults.

Most gilded first comment

The most gilded first comment was by /u/mboyle — posted more than 8 years after signing up — on the AskReddit post titled What's the closest thing you have to a superpower?

I can hang on Reddit for 8 years and never post once.

Wait. Fuck.

Most upvoted first comment

The most upvoted first comment was by a throwaway account on the AskReddit post titled Throwaway time! What's your secret that could literally ruin your life if it came out?

Two and a half years ago I was in dire financial straights, so I sold my home to keep my struggling business afloat. I neglected to tell the owners that they have an 800 sq. ft. bunker on the property that I built about seven years ago. The bunker that I've called home since I sold it. The entrance to it is well-hidden, but I still come and go very early/very late in the day.

I'm a single man who keeps to himself. I'm now in a situation where I could move somewhere else, but I love this hidden paradise so much.

Most downvoted first comment

The most downvoted first comment was one of those infamous Let's-get-back-to-Rampart comments by Woody Harrelson, from his IAmA post in 2012.

First of off, its not true, and second off, I don't want to answer questions about that. Lets focus on the film people.

Post with most first comments

This rather odd post on /r/Music is full of gibberish first-time comments, most probably all spam accounts. All of them are shadowbanned as of now.

It is followed by a post on /r/Agario about skins , in which 4,375 out of the total 7,609 comments were by first-time commenters.
